Wilbur (Bill) Fleming Des Jardins, of Buckley, Washington, born on November 14, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 7, 2023.
He met Lily Kenoyer at Huntington College in Indiana. Upon his return from serving 14 months with the army on Okinawa, he moved to Washington and married Lily on November 19, 1954. He began teaching at Wilkeson School in 1964. He retired in 1986. As a teacher, he loved coaching track and helping students with their class woodworking projects. After retiring, he enjoyed volunteering for the food bank and having coffee with his dear fellow teachers and others at the Burnett store, where he enjoyed handing out quarters to kids.
He is survived by his wife, Lily; son, Craig; daughters, Vicki and Carol; grandchildren, Nicholas (Kelli), Bonnie (Beau), and Jack; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn, and siblings Edward, Robert, Stella, Ruth, Ralph, Kenneth, Russell, Grace, and Roberta.
Wilkeson School held a special place in his heart. A memorial service is being held there in the gym on Saturday, July 22nd, at 1:00 p.m.
