COLE STREET EVENTS

The Enumclaw Downtown Business Owners Collective has organized a month of Valentine’s Day activities for locals and visitors alike this month. However, unlike in the past, February Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays will see the street open for traffic, and not closed for pedestrians.

That said, visit downtown and express your love on public hearts you can write on. Additionally:

National Heart Awareness Day: Visiting downtown to shop or eat? Make sure you wear red!

Feb. 10

I Heart Enumclaw: Want to show your love of Enumclaw? Get your Valentine’s gifts locally, and check out some exclusive “I Heart Enumclaw” swag and merch.

Feb. 19 and 20

Blood drive: A mobile blood drive will be at 246 Semanski Street (The Church of Latter Day Saints) from (:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on both Feb. 19 and 20.

SINGLE EVENTS

Feb. 2

Wine and Chocolate: The Enumclaw Expo Center is hosting its annual Wine and Chocolate Festival on Feb. 2 (4 – 9:30 p.m.) and Feb. 3 (2 – 9:30 p.m.). Tickets, which are $40, come with eight tasting tickets and a commemorative tasting class; additional tickets can be bought for $1. There are also VIP tickets for $160 that includes time in a special lounge area, 12 tasting tickets, and a charcuterie board and chocolate for two. Feb. 10

Galentine’s with Simple Goodness Sisters: Wilkeson’s Simple Goodness Sisters is hosting a Galentine’s Day brunch from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 10. There will be brunch food, drink specials, flash tattoos and piercings, permanent jewelry, vintage shopping, and more; tickets are $25, and can be bought at simplegoodnesssisters.com/products/galentines-day-at-the-soda-shop.

Feb. 11

Galentine’s Pajama Brunch: The Roaring Underground on Enumclaw’s Cole Street is hosting its own Galentine’s event on Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event faetures mimosas, games, prizes, and a charcuterie brunch box. Tickets are $25 and can be bought at roaringunderground.com.

Feb. 12

POM Food Bank ribbon cutting: Plateau Outreach Ministries invites one and all to the ribbon cutting for the new Enumclaw Food Bank. The event is Feb. 12 at the Calvary Presbyterian Church Education Building (1720 1/2, Wells Street) at 10:30 a.m.; this follows news of POM combining both the Marshall Avenue and Cole Street food banks into one location at Calvary Presbyterian.

Feb. 17

EFD CPR and First Aid class: The Enumclaw Fire Department is hosting a CPR and first aid class on Feb. 17 at the fire station. This is not a free event — a first aid-only class, which includes instructional materials for infants, children, and adults, is $50; an AED-only class for infants, children, and adults is also $50. However, a first aid and AED class is $75. Registration is required, and drop-ins will not be accepted; head to enumclawfire.org/classes to sign up.

Feb. 27

Sleep Seminar: The local Science of Happiness and Positive Psychology (SoHaPP) grassroots organization is hosting an “improve your sleep” talk with Dr. Dan Clerc of the local Virginia Mason Franciscan clinic. The free event will be at The Chalet Theatre from 7 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 27. For more information, head to www.sohapp.org.

Rotary Father-Daughter Dance: The Enumclaw Rotary’s annual Father-Daughter dance is scheduled for March 2 at the Enumclaw High School commons; the theme for the 31st annual dance is “Barbie”. Tickets to the event are $40 and will go on sale this week.

RECURRING EVENTS

Cancer Support Group: The Plateau Prostate Cancer Support Group, which is open to everyone diagnosed with any cancer and their loved ones, is meeting at the Enumclaw airport every second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.

Plateau Scottish Country Dancing: The Plateau Scottish Country Dancers are continuing weekly classes on Monday nights. We meet from 7-9 pm at the Danish Hall (1708 Porter St., Enumclaw). Cost is $5 per person and a partner is not required. Dances are taught according to the skill level of those attending, so beginners are always welcome. Scottish Country Dancing is a centuries-old tradition reflecting the music and culture of Scotland. It’s great exercise and a lot of fun. Brewskis with a Newsie: Come meet your local journalists on every first Wednesday of each month at Cole Street Brewery (1627 Cole Street, Enumclaw) from 5 to 6 p.m. This is an informal event where residents can pitch stories, fact-check articles, and talk shop. WIBIT Night: The Enumclaw Aquatic Center hosts WIBIT Night every first Saturday of the month, and features large, inflatable pool obstacle courses. Call 360-815-1188 to reserve your spot. Tickets for reservations are $7.75 an hour; drop-ins are $9 an hour.
