The 50th annual Log Show might have been the busiest yet with hundreds of people cheering for their favorite logger at the event grounds in Buckley.
The events are grueling — 81 participants had to speed climb up a 75-foot pole, sprint across water to saw through logs or set a choke, chop through vertical and horizontal blocks of wood, and so much more.
Billy Clinkingbeard secured his tenth consecutive “All Around Logger” win with a total of 70 points, placing first in speed climbing, obstacle bucking, tree topping, double bucking, and wrapper toss.
Right behind him was Bo Carlson with 61 points, placing first and often ahead of Clinkingbeard in some events like the horizontal block chop, choker setting, the standing block chop, single bucking, and log rolling — though it wasn’t enough to knock Clinkingbeard off his wooden throne.
All participants competed on Saturday, but only the top six in each event went on to face off on Sunday. Scores in each individual event are a combination of both days.
