In his recent letter (“Biden, and his immigration policies, are a mess”, published July 3), Jon Buss claims that Biden is unfit for office in part because sexual assaults have occurred during Biden’s presidency.

As an alternative to Biden, he endorses a man who has been found liable for sexually assaulting a woman in a department store changing room.

Does Jon’s sympathy for the victims of sexual assault extend to E. Jean Carroll? His endorsement of her attacker suggests that the answer is no. Perhaps sexual assault only matters to Jon if it can be used to validate his xenophobia.
