Buckley police reports Aug 8-13

POWER LINE DOWN: Police responded in conjunction with the fire department to a downed power line in Carbonado at 3:37 p.m. Aug. 8. The power line was sparking and several roads surrounding 2nd Street and Pershing Avenue had to be blocked off. The responding officer directed traffic until Puget Sound Energy arrived to remove the line.

LICENSE SUSPENDED: At midnight Aug. 9, an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at the 27900 block of state Route 410 East. The driver was found to be under third-degree suspension, issued a notice of infraction and citation and released on scene. The vehicle was legally parked and secured at the scene by the driver.

DUI: At 12:24 a.m. Aug. 11, an officer stopped a pickup truck on SR 410 near the Lower Cemetery Road for an expired vehicle registration. The driver stated she was unaware of the expiration. Meanwhile, the officer could smell an odor similar to alcohol coming from the vehicle. The driver blamed the smell on her work. She was placed under arrest for driving under the influence and her vehicle was towed.

WELFARE CHECK/DUI: At 8:56 p.m. Aug. 13, an officer was conducting a welfare check at a residence on Collins Street. During the check, a driver arrived at the house to pick up the subject. It was apparent that the driver was intoxicated and he was processed for driving under the influence. He was given a criminal citation and booked into jail.
