Tuesday’s nationwide National Night Out event has come to Enumclaw.
Originating with a Block Watch theme, National Nigh Out has expanded to address many issues that make for a happier, healthier community.
In Enumclaw, organizers are hoping people will get together for events large and small.
“It comes back to just getting together and watching out for each other,” said Trip Hart, one of the event founders.
For some, NNO is as simple as moving a backyard barbecue to the more-visible front yard. Taking things a step further, some neighborhoods band together for a larger cookout.
Anyone wishing to participate in NNO is asked to notify Plateau Outreach Ministries, as there are promotional materials available. POM can be reached at 360-825-8961.
Buckley
Buckley will celebrate National Night Out with a 6 p.m. event at the Buckley Youth Activity Center.
This marks the fourth year Buckley has participated in NNO.
All are invited to attend, support the Buckley fire and police departments and enjoy free food, preparation of free child identification cards and more. For information about the Buckley event, call 360 829-6534.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit, help build police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
