Gallery visitors take a Walk on the Wild Side

The city of Enumclaw presents artist Sallie A. Zydek and her exhibit Walk on the Wild Side at Gallery 2010 at Enumclaw City Hall.

The exhibit begins today, Wednesday, and continues through Aug. 3. An open public reception for the artist will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at City Hall. Light refreshments will be served.

According to city of Enumclaw cultural programs coordinator Gary LaTurner, Zydek works with surgical deftness to create works of art in oils, acrylics, graphite and India ink. Her work has been widely exhibited in shows across the United States. She has won the People’s Choice Award at BaseCamp Juried Arts Exhibit in Enumclaw and she has previously exhibited at City Hall.

“I started my career in the Buckley-Enumclaw area years ago while attending Buckley High School,” Zydeck said in a press release from the city.

Zydek is a member of Artists for Conservation, and she has contributed artwork to the Wildlife Art Magazine for 14 years. Her artwork is also on display at the Arts Alive! Gallery, The Mint and Tuttle’s Gun Store, all in Enumclaw.

Gallery 2010 is in City Hall, 1339 Griffin Ave. Hours are 8 a. m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Enumclaw City Hall is closed on national holidays and Tuesdays for court proceedings. For information, call the Cultural Programs office at 360-802-0239.
