The Enumclaw High Hornets will conclude the South Puget Sound League 3A regular soccer season on a busy note, playing their final three games during a five-day span.
The hectic pace was brought about when Lakes High cancelled its Friday athletic events, past of a schoolwide closure resulting from flu concerns.
Enumclaw will host the makeup game against Lakes today, Wednesday, then polish off the regular season Friday against league-leading White River. Both contests begin at 5 p.m. at the Southwood field. EHS played earlier this week, traveling to Peninsula High Monday; results came too late to be included here, but will be posted at www.courierherald.com.
With a league record of 2-1-2 heading into this week’s games, Enumclaw has an opportunity to slip into the playoff picture, but nothing is guaranteed in the highly-competitive SPSL 3A.
Enumclaw High had just one game last week, defeating Clover Park 6-0 April 28.
Six Hornets cracked the scoring column and Jordan Savage turned in a hat trick. Others finding the net were Luke Andrew, Dylan Riley and Kevin Flowers.
