The 2016 Legislature got underway Monday as the 60-day session started with a flurry of activity.

On Tuesday we heard compelling testimony from current public charter school students. In my last 57 Seconds video I explained the state Supreme Court’s ruling that reversed Initiative 1240 passed by the voters in 2012.

This week I wanted to answer the question: “what is a charter school?“

Charter laws differ wildly in both design and student outcomes from state-to-state. Some states have poor oversight, cherry pick students, and lax standards for their charter schools.
