EXPLOSIVE DEVICE: A subject was caught Sept. 16 attempting to withdraw fraudulently-deposited funds at a city bank. The suspect was arrested and booked. City police then requested a bomb technician from the Washington State Patrol, as an explosive device was taken off the suspect during the booking process.

TOOLS STOLEN: A Jewell Street resident told police Sept. 16 two vehicles had been broken into while parked at the residence.

WALLET TAKEN: Police were told Sept. 16 a wallet was stolen from a car parked overnight on Bondgard Avenue.

LOOKING FOR CAR: Enumclaw police were asked Sept. 15 to look for a Honda Accord with front-end damage. The car, and a female driver, had been involved in a hit-and-run in Buckley. The vehicle was not located.

TIRES TAKEN: Police were told Sept. 15 the wheels and tires were taken off a vehicle parked behind the service department at a Roosevelt Avenue automobile dealership. There were no suspects. Extra patrol was requested.

CURTAINS CLOSED: A report was taken Sept. 15 of a Lafromboise Street resident walking around his house naked with his curtains open. Officers contacted the man, who denied the incident; he agreed to keep all curtains drawn while he was dressing.

VANDALISM: An officer responded Sept. 14 to a Park Street address after hearing of vandalism to a landscaping system. A similar report had been taken four days earlier. There were no immediate suspects.

DRUG CHARGE: After a citizen told police Sept. 14 a man attempted to sell him marijuana, the suspect was taken into custody on a drug charge. He was released with charges pending.

SHOPLIFTING: Police received a report at 6:40 a.m. Sept. 13 of a shoplifting incident at a Monroe Avenue business. Two suspects stole Cheetos and soda. An officer located the suspects and returned them to the store. The adult suspect was booked for third-degree theft and the juvenile suspect was released at the scene. Both were trespassed from the store.

CYCLES TAKEN: Police responded Sept. 13 to a Rainier Avenue address following a report of a burglary and theft of motorcycles.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY: A Myrtine Street resident told police Sept. 13 someone had entered an apartment through a bedroom window. The caller identified a possible suspect and told of an ongoing dispute over personal property.

JEWELRY THEFT: Police heard Sept. 13 from a Park Street resident who reported jewelry was taken from the residence. A possible suspect was identified.

SUSPICIOUS MAN: A caller told police a man followed a 10-year-old girl Sept. 13 along Kibler Avenue while she walked to school, turning away when she entered the building. The suspect was described as approximately 60 years old with brown/gray hair, wearing white shoes. Parents were asked to notify police if the man was spotted.

HIDDEN RIFLE: Police were alerted Sept. 13 to a man walking along Griffin Avenue with a rifle concealed under his camouflage-style clothing. He could not be located.

NOISE COMPLAINT: Police responded shortly after 11 p.m. Sept. 13 to a Griffin Avenue address after people complained of those outside a tavern who were yelling, swearing and insulting people who live nearby. An officer made contact and told the group to quiet down; he was told several loud individuals had just left the scene.

THREATS MADE: A male subject brandished a knife and a baseball bat outside the public library at approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Threats were made but no assault took place. Police were unable to determine the name of the suspect, who was associated with a white Chevrolet S-10 pickup.

VEHICLE PROWLS: A Watson Street resident told police Sept. 12 someone had stolen a stereo and GPS unit from a vehicle. A short time later, a Larsen Avenue resident reported someone had gone through a pickup but nothing was missing.

SNAKE IN CUSTODY: Police were called the afternoon of Sept. 12 by someone reporting a pet snake had escaped and was hiding in a bush near a Roosevelt Avenue parking lot. A Fish and Wildlife agent took custody of the reptile, which was identified as a gopher snake.

GIRL HARASSED: A resident told police Sept. 12 a girl was the target of threats and harassment from a 13-year-old girl. The suspect had not been identified.

STOLEN, RETURNED: A residential burglary at a 244th Avenue Southeast address was quickly resolved Sept. 12. A suspect returned the stolen property and was ordered to stay away from the victim’s home.
