NOTE: the following was posted on the Enumclaw School District website and sent to local media early Thursday morning. A Courier-Herald story will be posted when more details become available.
“After a rigorous application and interview process, Enumclaw High School Principal Jill Burnes announced the selection of Mark Gunderson as a new PE/Health Teacher and Football Coach.
“Mark received his motivational training from Coach Frosty Westering at Pacific Lutheran University who proved you could have fun and win! Mark played as a cornerback for the Lutes. He has taught and coached in the Auburn, Sumner and Kent School Districts where his focus has been on building character and good sportsmanship in his players, along with a winning attitude. Our students will benefit from his experience, enthusiasm and desire to make football the most fun thing they’ve ever done.
“Although Mark will officially begin his responsibilities in August 2012, he will be a part of the transition activities and will lead the football camp for Hornet athletes.
“We welcome Mark Gunderson to the Enumclaw School District and wish him much happiness and success in his new positions.”
