Enumclaw martial arts instructor Shane Alvidrez has been charged with rape of a child in the third degree.

Charging papers issued by the King County Prosecutor’s Office allege that Alvidrez, 49, had sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl on numerous occasions between March 1 and June 30, 2010. A report issued by Lt. Eric Sortland of the Enumclaw Police Department noted that sex acts continued into 2011.

At the time, the girl was a student at the Cole Street martial arts studio Alvidrez owns and operates. Documents allege inappropriate acts took place both at the studio and the Alvidrez home.

Alvidrez was arrested by Enumclaw police and briefly jailed before being transferred to the Regional Justice Center in Kent. His arraignment is scheduled for June 6 in Kent.
