The Gordon Family YMCA in Sumner is in the final stages before opening to the public. The eight-year project will pay off when the largest YMCA in the state, 110,000 square feet, opens to provide children and adults alike a new and safe place to work out, hang out and work towards a better life style. The YMCA will be open at 8 a.m. Monday, September 14.
Two MMA fighters who call Enumclaw home, Tyson Cunningham and Justin Harrington, fought at the Super Fight League 41 and both walked away with a gold champion title. The fights were at the Emerald Queen Casino Saturday in Tacoma. Cunningham was the first fight, followed by Harrington.

One way the city of Black Diamond remembers its roots is the annual Miner’s Day celebration, which is set for Saturday. There will be an array of activities to celebrate the history of Black Diamond.
What started as a small love of cooking for Natalie Vorpahl while growing up in Enumclaw, has led to an appearance on the Food Network Channel’s Cake Wars. Vorpahl, co-owner of Baked Custom Cakes with Kristina Sersass, said she enjoyed the once in a lifetime opportunity at the competition and the overall experience.
