The weather at Tapps Island Golf Course was blustery and fall-like, but the sun was shining on the White River High girls golf team as it picked up its first win of the season, a 24-18 victory over Lakes Sept. 29.

“We ran pretty good at Chicago and they’re kind of similar tracks,” Kahne said of the 1.5-mile, D-shaped oval.

Jordan Beals earned medalist honors with a 2-under par 33 at Enumclaw Sept. 22, but it wasn’t enough to boost Enumclaw High past Peninsula in a 89-86 loss to the South Puget Sound League 3A rival.
The Enumclaw High girls swim team used its depth to edge Peninsula 96-90 Sept. 22 to stay undefeated in league and tumble Lakes 107-76 Thursday in a nonleague contest.
