The White River High girls tennis team was making a show of it at the subdistrict tournament, but Rachel Hoflack and the doubles team of Haley Havelock and Courtney Hall came up shy of a spot at the West Central District tournament which began play Tuesday at Sprinker Recreation Center in Spanaway, Wash.
Doubles teams Lauren Redman and Anna Nelson and Breanna Pierce and Julie Sanders and singles player Morgan Johnson will represent Enumclaw High at the West-Central District girls tennis tournament.
It didn’t start off great for Enumclaw High at the state girls water polo tournament, but the Hornets were able to close out the tournament Saturday with an overtime victory over Puayllup for a seventh-place showing.
There was generally good news stemming from the Enumclaw School Board’s special meeting May 11, when Enumclaw School District Superintendent Mike Nelson announced the district would most likely only be letting two teachers go Friday – but, still, it hits hard.

Enumclaw High girls water polo team lost a 10-7 match to Rogers Friday, May 15, in the second round of the state tournament.

The annual program begins at 2 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park, off state Route 410 in Enumclaw.
As part of its regular meeting May 13, the White River School Board hosted a public hearing regarding the potential sale of the building, formerly the city’s post office, at 146 S. Cedar St. The building currently houses the school district’s online learning program that will move to White River Middle School.
