The White River High’s girls tennis team picked up its first win of the season with a 3-2 victory over Timberline Thursday.
It may have been JUST one game for the White River High fastpitch team, but it was a nailbiter – a 4-3 loss to Franklin Pierce May 30.
A final heavyweight win by Erik Hines lifted the Enumclaw High judo team over Kentlake in its season opening match.
Unlike their first meeting, it didn’t take overtime or sudden victory periods of play for the Auburn Mountainview Lions to top Enumclaw in the two team’s Eastern Division girls water polo rematch Thursday. In a game that seesawed back and forth, the Lions took the lead late in the third period and held on for a 4-3 victory.
“It’s a radical shift we’re seeing at the high school,” White River High School teacher Leeann Alfano told the White River School Board at its March 25 workshop. Students, she said, are asking what classes they need to take to help them get into college.
Six White River High School students will vie for Buckley’s America Junior Miss honors at 6 p.m. April 18 in the White River High School theatre.
It started with a group of people talking about the idea of how to bring people together. It’s developed into Simply Soup, a free, monthly community dinner and social which the small band of organizers are planning to launch into a monthly event.

Hoping to pick up a win or two, the White River High fastpitch team was scheduled to travel to Franklin Pierce Monday and host Timberline Tuesday before taking time off to enjoy spring break.
