About a week ago, I was minding my own madness when suddenly I found myself being harangued because I could not name a TV show I like or follow. I won’t reveal the names of those who were badgering me in the office; we will just refer to them as Brandy Pickering and Kathy McCauley (the creative goddesses).
The ball rolled right for the Hornet girls Friday and the team came home from Sumner with a 50-45 win, handing the Spartans their first loss of the season.
It was a win-loss ride for the Spartan girls last weekend on the parquet. The Sumner basketball team lost to Enumclaw Friday 50-45 at home in a South Puget Sound League 3A game. It was the girls first loss of the season.Coach Jordan Moog wrote in an email, “Friday was a rough game for us, but good reminder.”
The Enumclaw girls basketball team lost to Bonney Lake 43-30 at home Tuesday.
The Panther and Spartan wrestling teams took to the mats at the All South Puget Sound League tournament Friday and Saturday at Auburn High School.Bonney Lake scored 124.25 as a team taking 10th and Sumner was 12th with 113.5.
Hunter Haney took first in the 126 pound division beating Beau Shatto from Rogers 5-3 at the South Puget Sound League wrestling tournament Saturday.
The Hornets hosted Fife Friday at home and won 54-33 then beat Rogers Saturday 57-43.
The Panthers lost to Lindbergh at Bonney Lake High and play Enumclaw Tuesday.
Bonney Lake’s Brandon Kaylor brought home a 106 pound championship from the South Puget Sound League wrestling tournament Saturday.
The Enumclaw High had two gymnastic meets in December, both at Peak Gymnastics.

Gov. Jay Inslee met with Sound Publishing reporters and editors Thursday at the Bellevue Reporter office to discuss the executive branch’s 2015-17 budget proposal. Inslee’s office released the budget documents, which will be taken up by the Legislature when the regular session convenes Jan. 12. The coming session is scheduled to end April 27.
