Rainier School could face a severe reduction in the number of clients it serves and accompanying deep cuts to the 1,000-employee payroll that makes up Buckley’s largest employer. There will be an informal gathering for legal guardians of Rainier School’s residents, as well as other stake holders and contractors, at 6 p.m. Aug. 27 in the Bill Leonard Room on the Rainier School campus.
The Firehouse Pub will host the Buckley Chamber of Commerce’s second annual Buckley Beer and Wine Walk from 3 to 6 p.m. Sept. 12.
Enumclaw High School football two-a-day practices began Wednesday.
The two practice times, in order to, “beat the heat,” according to head football coach Don Bartel, are at 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Hornets will begin each of the two-a-day practices by doing a bit of light weightlifting and stretching.
The City of Buckley’s Planning Commission will hold a public hearing Aug. 31 to obtain public input regarding the proposed 2009 amendments to the Buckley Comprehensive Plan. These amendment elements will fall under the categories of transportation, parks and recreation, land use and capital facilities.
