Occasionally, good things really do come in small packages. There is a small skateboard shop in Buckley at 729 1/2 Main Street, directly behind Klips By Kim and just down the alley from the Buckley police station.

Buckley’s newest enterprise is called Billy’s Skateboard Shop and it has all the supplies any skateboarder might desire.

“My brother Bob opened the business a couple of years ago and then sort of lost interest and shut it down, when it took a bit longer than expected to open the skateboard park and the youth activity center,” said Billy Beach, an 18-year-old recent graduate of Collins High School. He decided to reopen the store along with his manager Taya Anderson, combining some of his older brother’s remaining inventory with the new products he is having shipped in every day.

“Now that the skate park and the youth activity center are up and running, we feel this could be a very successful venture, because there really isn’t any other place in Buckley that sells the products that we do,” explained the young entrepreneur, who also installs car stereo and security systems for Northwest Auto Security just down the road from Buckley.

Billy’s Skateboard Shop provides items to outfit one’s skateboard and buyers can listen to and watch skateboard videos while browsing about the store. Products include wheels, decks, stickers, wristbands, helmets, protective knee pads and gloves, hats, T-shirts, candy, pop, water, chips and backpacks.

The shop is able to complete minor skateboard repairs and Beach maintains that soon his outfit will be producing skateboards withy his shop’s logo adorning them.

The shop is open from 1 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays. The phone number is 360-829-3325.
