Editor’s note: the following is in response to a June 16 column by staff writer Brian Beckley.
I would agree that the problem is the wiring of the human mind and its inability to focus on two things at once; humans can only do so by switching back and forth between subjects like driving a car and a conversation. However, after nearly being forced into a truck carrying gas cylinders on I-5 not long ago by a clueless woman yakking on her hand held cell phone I can’t generate much in the way of sorrow for those getting tickets.
Until this problem is addressed, and not with funny columns, people will continue to die. Be funny about that Brian!
