District has earned trust, needs support

The Enumclaw School District’s replacement levy request is clearly a necessity and makes up about a quarter of the day-to-day operations of the district. This levy simply replaces an expiring levy.

Until the state of Washington supplies more funding – which they are legally required to do – we must do so.

I have observed the district’s administration and board’s financial activities over the past few years and have come to the conclusion that the current board and superintendent are fiscally prudent and responsible in their spending.

Many districts have not been as conservative as Enumclaw and they are faced with severe budget cuts and a substantial increase in levy rates.

Enumclaw historically has not asked for any more funding than what they absolutely need – a welcome change these days.
