When we vote for a candidate we choose that person to represent us in congress.

I recently reached out to Rep. Fortunato and asked for some help. I live in a 55+ community in Buckley. A corporation owns the land my manufactured home sits on. Every year they raise the rent on the land 8%. Slowly many residents have been priced out of their own homes.

I’ve asked Rep. Fortunato for help. I heard back from his one time, asking a few questions, which I replied to. Since then I have not heard any more from him. I just want to know if he could bring up a bill in the state legislature to put a cap on raising rent rates. It’s hard to justify why the rent has to be raised that much. It would be different if we had a clubhouse to maintain, which we don’t.

You would hope that my representative would at least communicate with me. If you can’t help, then tell me that. This is truly frustrating. So next month we get to vote for a representative and when the current one won’t even answer an email let alone offer any help, maybe it’s time to find a new one.
