Need an excellent New Year’s Resolution? Try…”Art to Start 2011.”

After the holiday season, the turkey, the shopping, the Advent season anticipating Christmas, the joy of the day, the delicious taste of all your favorite foods that help make the season one to remember it is time to take a moment and give yourself a “Sweet Treat.” Not a treat for the taste buds but one without calories…a treat for the eyes. A perfect resolution!

Take a stroll through the art galleries in Enumclaw. Start at Arts Alive! It is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday until 7 p.m. There you will find local artists work on display and the perfect place to start your “Sweet Treat.” There is much to see and enjoy.

As you look around and enjoy, think about how this all happens to be here in this gallery in Enumclaw. It is done by volunteers who are interested in supporting the arts on the Plateau. Arts Alive! would like to invite you to make another New Year’s resolution…take the time and look into becoming a member and perhaps a volunteer of Arts Alive! in 2011. Your membership and support of Arts Alive! will help keep it a strong and supportive organization of the arts on the Plateau, as well as give you private invitations to various art showings during the year.

While you are in the gallery, you can now give yourself an actual “Sweet Treat” for your taste buds too…the candy from the Village Shoppe is now located on our counter; come on in and try it.

Now, you can also move on to the other galleries in Enumclaw, one in City Hall and another at Green River Community College. Then continue on to the Indian book store where Sallie Zydek and Bob Charlo have artwork on display and then stop in at Judi G’s and see what Troy has in his frame shop and then on to The Mint to see the latest display there.

We hope to see you soon,

The board of Arts Alive!
