When the bromance between Elon Musk and President Trump finally ends. Musk won’t care. He probably won’t whine a bit when Trump cuts him loose with the usual string of insults. He won’t write a book or give an interview. Because he has already gotten everything he wanted from his epic con job of the ages.
From all appearances it looks like Musk designed the DOGE job. Then flattered the president into giving it to him. That gave Musk all he wanted. Access to the government’s computer systems was the ultimate goal. Unlimited access to restricted, personal, financial and business information on anyone he might consider a threat. Sensitive information on competitors. Foreign and domestic. Information on any investigations of his empire. Information on present and future bid proposals and specifications. Who knows what else? Maybe even insert a Trojan or two for long term insurance, access or blackmail? Only he or his soon to be suckers young helpers know.
I suspect “Reducing the size of government” was secondary and he is using that chaos hides his true motive. This epic con job will put Musk in the catbird seat long after the president has passed on from either old age or dementia. Musk is also probably thinking that: In the aftermath of his actions, the probable remains of the government may be too crippled or compromised to do much to him later.
The sad thing is, President Trump will probably never realize. Or even bring himself to admit it if he does. That the professional con man himself got massively conned. Big time.
