There is a new marketing phrase being used by the Liberal Democrats: “Constitutional Crisis”. They have apparently realized that the term “fascism” was an ignorant assumption – a simple dictionary and cursory analysis indicated the word did not apply.
They are using this phrase to attack DOGE. The assumption is because Elon Musk is not elected his actions are unconstitutional, however he serves at the Will of the Chief Executive, therefore his actions are the same as if the president performed them. Other complaints include that he is unqualified, and he is a wealthy billionaire. These two complaints are baseless; because it is by virtue of his success in business that his qualification exists.
Consider, no one complained about George Soros controlling many actions during their tenure.
The dictionary defines qualification as: “a quality or accomplishment that makes someone suitable for a particular job or activity.” Again, his accomplishments are the basis, and if his success at streamlining Twitter is considered, he is quite skilled at administrating efficiency and eliminating the cancer of DEI.
Wikipedia explains a constitutional crisis: “In political science, a constitutional crisis is a problem or conflict in the function of a government that the political constitution or other fundamental governing law is perceived to be unable to resolve.”
Also, “the crisis results when one or more of the parties to a political dispute willfully chooses to violate a law of the constitution.”
It is this last explanation that the other side is primarily relying on as the basis. However, in this last explanation and in all the other listed situations, if ti was true, the Supreme Court would be involved quite quickly.
The very fact that the Supreme Court has not blocked any of the actions by the Executive branch indicates there is not any constitutional crisis.
Well, then why would the Liberal Democrats ignorantly use another term?
It is simply marketing. They need a new catch phrase for a few reasons.
First, to look unified as they do their political grandstanding for the media.
Second, to instigate court action, yet this is exactly what the president wants. He is gambling that the Supreme Court will side with him and it will shut down the opposing side. Now, no one should insult the Supreme Court by saying they are beholden to those who appointed them. They were individually appointed only because of philosophical affinity.
Third, to provide the liberal media a focus to rant about.
Fourth, to incite unknowledgeable and emotional citizens into irrational demonstrations, which are participated by less than 0.1%.
It is a storm that will subside. A growing majority of citizens agree with the work that is being done to eliminate government waste, fraud, and abuse.
Again, it must be repeated, if there was truly illegal or unconstitutional actions by the Executive branch, the Supreme Court would already have blocked them.
