Letter to the Editor: Councilmember out of touch with economic reality

Reader Suzanne Osborne argues this was the wrong time to attempt a bond for a community center.

Hard to believe the short-sightedness of our city officials thinking this was the time to ask their citizens for money!

And to have the head of the “yes” campaign for the community center bond, Tom Sauvageau, say he felt the bond failed because the majority of voters “were focused on the self and not on helping others.” How far out of reality are these people?

With inflation as it is, people are living off credit cards, going to food banks, and doing whatever they need to survive, thinking of others must take second place.
