Letter to the Editor: Look to the people you need every day for wisdom

Reader George Terhaar urges people to look away from the rich and famous as role models.

The United States has become a place where entertainers, professional athletes, influencers, and podcasters are mistaken as people of wisdom and importance.

I’ve needed a doctor, teacher, farmer, clerk, truck driver, every day.

I’ve needed an auto mechanic, pastor, a plumber, roofer, electrician, policeman, fireman, contractor, house painter and a lot of other everyday people.

But I have never, not even once, needed a pro athlete, a media personality, or a Hollywood entertainer for anything.
