I want to thank Brian Blake of Enumclaw for his letter on protecting bears in the Oct. 27 issue of the newspaper. I really appreciate that someone else cares for these animals and is willing to talk about it.
It seems wrong to kill mother bears, as from what I’ve read, cubs can stay with their mothers up to two years while they learn the ropes. That means, instead of one dead bear, there could eventually be two or three.
So thank you Brian for putting into words how I feel, too.
