Interesting Brian Beckley (Courier-Herald, Oct. 27) uses the word “Dumb” in his latest re-cycled column bashing the Republicans and the Tea Party.
Just an accident, I am sure, that Dumb is the same thing the Obamanation has been calling anyone who would dare vote against him or his agenda. Brian, disinterested objective journalist that he is, somehow fails to mention that Patty Murray is regularly voted by the media covering her as the dumbest member of Congress and is named “The earmark queen.” Dumb Brian? How ‘bout you mention the likes of the demented Alan Grayson from Florida; “Moon Beam” Jerry Brown; Barbara “It’s Senator” Boxer; Arlen “it’s Tuesday I must be a Democrat” Specter; John “I’m a war hero, damn it” Kerry; and, of course, The One, who claims the power to lower the oceans and heal the planet.
OK, every member of government who has cut spending and balanced a budget raise your hands, right, Mr. Rossi. No Patty Cake, sit down; we are not handing out cookies yet.
Brian says, “He (Rossi) just hasn’t given a single reason to vote FOR him as opposed to AGAINST Murray.” How ‘bout these Brian? Patty Cake endorses the following taking effect on Jan. 1, 2011: the estate tax returning to pre-2001 levels, a 55 percent tax; the capital gains tax jumping from 15 percent to 20 percent; dividends currently taxed on individual tax rates from 15 percent go as high as 39.6 percent; the Making Work Pay tax break will cease to exist; the alternative minimum tax will hit the entire middle class for 2010 tax returns.
A slew of tax breaks like credits for research; development expenses; relief for college tuition, will not be available for 2010 tax returns. How dumb were we to allow the left to put us another $5 trillion in debt in 16 months. Revoking mortgage interest deduction is also on the table when Patty returns to a lame duck congress this fall. The Child Tax Credit will revert from $1,000 to $500. Infants born 2010 owe the thugs $42,000 (and growing). Not to mention the Cap and Tax (try tripling your power bill) and the VAT (value added tax) a national sales tax that Murray has noted could be as high as 20 added to all the taxes already in place. By the way the date you work for yourself this year, not Patty: Aug 19. Thanks Patty!
How dumb was it, Brian, to let Patty strip $12 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, commonly known as food stamps, to pay for her slush fund to re-elect Dems called TARP? Need we mention the cosmic disaster of Obamacare? Is it any wonder then that for the first time corruption issues have forced the USA out of the list of top 20 law-abiding nations this year?
We have discussed before on these pages how Olympia (and Brian) hates the idea of the people having any input into how they are governed by our owners, each time this comes up for discussion the government and Brian explains to us “shut up.” As to the liquor privatization initiative I note in passing that the thugs in Olympia slam us with a 57 percent mark up and $25 per gallon tax. Brian (conveniently) does not mention it, but because it’s a Democrat initiative, I assume he favors the attempt with 1098 to place Obama’s government boot on our throats forever with the state income tax.
I also would like the “None of the above option” in all elections forcing a new election and maybe that’s what’s going to happen with a third party in 2012 if the Rs fail. But for now a D.C. beltway wag noted that this election is not an election so much as it’s a restraining order.
Mr. Rossi, by the way Brian, is not a member of the “party of no.”
He is (as am I) a proud member of the party of Hell No.”
