Overwhelmed by Enumclaw’s generosity

Almost nine tons of food was donated to POM and the Enumclaw Food Bank over the past year.

On behalf of the Plateau Outreach Ministries and Enumclaw Food Banks I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the businesses and individuals who helped us provide food for so many of our neighbors this past year. Because of their giving we were able to provide meals for many families who may have gone hungry because they didn’t have the means to put food on their table. With food costs increasing so much in the past year the number of people needing help increased significantly.

Through food drives sponsored by local Plateau businesses and individuals the Enumclaw Food Bank received 17,500 pounds of donated food (that is almost nine tons). Our food bank volunteers were simply overwhelmed by the generosity of our community. Once we date check and sort all the donations, we put this food into monthly and weekly food boxes for our clients. Without this kind of support, we would not be able to serve many of the people who need our help.

Some of the businesses and individuals who were so helpful to the Enumclaw Food Bank this past year include:

Arrow Lumber, Ben Thompson, Black Diamond Gun Club, Community Loaves, Dirty 2 Dreamy, Enumclaw Aquatic Center, Enumclaw Jeep Club, Green Valley Meats, Grocery Outlet, Hill Aerosystems, Lions Club, Molen Orthodontics, Peak Preschool Gymnastics, Enumclaw Post Office, Roaring Underground, Schoenfeld Tractor & Farm Equipment, the Country Playhouse, Westwood Elementary School, the Moose Lodge and many more.

Again, our thanks to all, you make us happy and proud to live in Enumclaw and on the Plateau.
