I have some comments to make regarding not the foothills trail bridge, which I am glad to hear is getting some attention, but about the bridge going over White River itself.
The traffic is getting worse all the time, from both directions. If I am driving into Enumclaw the right time of day, I can’t believe the cars heading towards Buckley.
I have seen cars backed up almost to Enumclaw High School. The line of cars heading to Enumclaw from Buckley is just about as bad. Something has got to give.
To make matters worse, there is development occurring on the Buckley side of 410. Before you get to the first traffic light in Buckley, you will notice a dirt trail off to the right of 410.
I have spoken with representatives for both Buckley and Pierce County, asking what is going on at the top of that dirt road. I have been told that condos are being built. I have asked both representatives how is this going to affect traffic on 410. It will affect the afternoon traffic coming from Enumclaw to Buckley, to say the least. Neither one of the representatives could give me an answer.
It is bad enough with the current afternoon traffic, which I have mentioned above. Now this. Somehow we need to have another bridge somewhere over White River.
