I am very saddened to hear that there is a great possibility that the pool will be closing at the end of summer.

My son has autism and has been learning how to swim at the Sumner pool for the past three years. It saddens me to think that we will not have this anymore. He absolutely loves it, he is now able to swim in the deep end with fins! Kids with autism have a tendency to be drawn to water. This is why we wanted our son to learn to swim. A lot of kids with autism drown after wandering away and being drawn to the water.

The Sumner and Bonney Lake communities need to step up and show support for the pool.
