The Enumclaw Fire Department wants to thank residents who participated in our recent budget process. The Board of Fire Commissioners held two public meetings before passing the 2022 Budget, which is available on our website at www.enumclawfire.org.

As part of the budget discussions, we talked about the need for additional firefighters. Call volumes are projected to increase by 13 percent this year. Simultaneous calls account for 20 percent of all our calls. Enumclaw is hard to reach due to its geographic location so relying on mutual aid from neighboring agencies is not ideal.

Your safety is our top priority, and we are working to get ahead of this issue before it becomes a problem. The next step is to have a discussion with our community about funding additional firefighters through a fire levy lid lift sometime in 2022.
