After reading the article and hearing from people I know that live by the site of the Boise Creek Project, I drove by to see what the State did at a price tag of $800,000. Looking at the work done I’m thinking: Yikes! I’m in the wrong stinking business trying to stay alive manufacturing crap. I could have hired a track hoe and bulldozer and two really hard-working, high-quality operators and had this completed in 90 days tops. Then I could retire.

Please, as taxpayers who funded this project, see for yourself. Going west on Highway 410, turn left before going over the bridge to Buckley and off to your right is your $800,000 project. Those of you who think government is not wasting massive amounts of our money please explain this one to us.

P.S. You know the big huge signs announcing at every single project along the roads what wonderful things the Washington State Department of Transportation is doing with your hundreds of millions of dollars? How much do those oversize signs cost? Please note that there are also multiple signs in bright orange that state: “For Project Information” call 206-440-4699. “Safety Improvement,” “Night Work Information” call 206-440-4699. Good luck. I called six times in two weeks and no one answered and no one returned any calls.

Isn’t our government wonderful? Most of you must think so.
