We’ll see if new columnist delivers the right stuff

Cannon certainly has no shortage of opinions.

Wow, just wow: David Cannon, a guest columnist in The Courier Herald. Well it is the opinion page, and he has proven over the last several months that he has no shortage of opinions, none of which seem to have much to do with the facts of any issue he has expounded upon.

Critical Race Theory was one of his topics where he claimed that it was being taught in K through 12, all of our colleges and even businesses, none of which is true. He made similar claims about many other issues in previous months but when he was called out for his spurious statements by myself and others in these pages, he, curiously, never responded to any of these factual rebuttals to substantiate his claims, so it will be interesting to see him put forth his take on the issues of the day and where he might gain his “facts” from, a problem he seemed to leave wanting in his previous contributions to these pages.

I couldn’t help but notice in his first column that he noticed the same words and phrases across all of the channels. Well you know David, when all of the mainstream media are basing their reporting on facts, there are only so many ways to present them, so they should sound more or less the same, shouldn’t they?

If you tend to get your world view from a station like Fox News on the other hand, they have no problem exaggerating and contorting the facts of the events to fit their narrative, kinda like what David has done in his several letters in the past. So I’m sure we all await your columns with great anticipation, hoping that you can, against all odds, come up with actual data to support your opinions.

P.S.: I’d just like to add, that instead of calling his column “The Right Stuff,” he might consider calling it “The FAR Right Stuff,” just sayin’.
