Why change things that made the U.S. the best?

I want this newspaper to know that myself and a big number of vets I pal with are proud of the gentlemen that write letters defending the America that made us the most successful, most powerful, richest and freest country in the world.

Almost to a man us vets agree with the letters defending the conservative view of a smaller government that doesn’t spend my grandchildren’s money today. We sit around discussing the unsurmountable amount of money future generations will be forced to pay because today’s generation sat by and didn’t fight back. Us vets fought and had buddies die fighting against what some want to make this country into.

Some call it change. Change? Change is what made us the greatest country in the world? At least there are a few remaining that are willing to fight, not with a gun but with a pen.

We like these letters you print. It gives us old guys something important to jaw about.
