EGG HUNTS
There are some eggcelent egg hunts on the Plateau every spring — here are a few.
Thomasson Family Farm’s Bunny Patch opens this month on April 5, 6, 9 – 13, and 16 – 19, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The farm offers its regular assortment of activities like the mega slide and tractor train rides, but there is also an ongoing egg hunt where littles 12 years old and younger can take their time hunting for their prizes. At night, Thomasson has its annual Boozy Bunny Hunt for adults on April 12 and 18. Unfortunately, the event is already sold out. https://www.thomassonfarm.com/flashlight-easter-egg-hunt/
The city of Enumclaw’s Babbitt Rabbit Egg Hunt is scheduled for April 19 from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Boise Creek Park. This is a free event.
Finally, the city of Buckley is holding two hunts. The first is the Hound Hunt for dogs (and their owners) at 9 a.m., followed by the Amazing Egg Race at noon for kids 10 t0 18. Both will be held on the field near the Buckley Youth Activity Center.
ELECTION INFO
The Enumclaw School District has put a levy measure on the upcoming April 22 special election. Here are some important dates to keep in mind:
April 2: Voters pamphlets and ballots mailed out
April 3: Ballot boxes open
April 14: Deadline to register to vote online or by mail
April 22: Last day to register to vote in person; election day
May 2: Election certification
SINGLE EVENTS
April 1
Cribbage night: The Buckley Downtown Association is hosting a Cribbage night on April 1 at the Doxsa Social House (151 South Cedar Street) from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 a person or $50 for a group of four.
April 5
Mother & Son Dance: The Enumclaw School Foundation’s annual Mother & Son is scheduled for April 5, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Thunder Mountain Middle School. Tickets are $35 for a mother and son, and an additional $5 for another son. Purchase tickets at enumclawschoolsfoundation.org/events.
April 26
Rainier Run: The Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce’s third-annual Rainier Run & Rally is scheduled for April 26. The run starts at 11 a.m., but continues with a block party featuring vendor booths, renaissance faire characters, raffle prizes, food and beer trucks, and more. Go to enumclawchamber.com/rainier-run-rally-2025 to register. Registration is $49 for adults; kids under 11 can run for free.
Baby Animals and Blooms: Maris Farms’ annual Baby Animals and Blooms festival returns on Saturdays and Sundays April 26 through May 11. Beyond being able to pet cute critters and walk through the fields of hundreds of tulips, this year’s event features themed days where families are encouraged to dress up as pirates, princesses, superheroes, and more. RECURRING EVENTS
Brewskis with a Newsie: Come meet your local journalist on every first Wednesday of each month from 5 to 6 p.m. at Fill’s Growlers (check the back room). Scottish Dancing: The Plateau Scottish Country Dancers have resumed Monday night classes and are welcoming new members. Classes are from 7 – 9 p.m. at the Danish Hall (1708 Porter St. Enumclaw). Cost is $5 per person and a partner is not required. Dances are taught according to the skill level of those attending, so beginners are always welcome! Scottish Country Dancing is a centuries-old tradition reflecting the music and culture of Scotland. It’s great exercise and a lot of fun! Come see what we do. Coffee with the Mayor: Enumclaw Mayor Jan Molinaro hosts a Coffee with the Mayor on the first Mondays of the month from 9 to 10 a.m. This is a casual session for citizens to meet with him and discuss issues, concerns, and projects.
TOPS Club meetings: The local Take Pounds Off Sensibly (TOPS) club meets every Thursday morning (8:30 – 9:30 a.m. weigh in, 10 – 11 a.m. meeting) at the Enumclaw Presbyterian Church and Wednesday evening (4 – 5 p.m. weigh in, 5 to 6 p.m. meeting) at the Enumclaw Senior Center Evergreen Room.
