FREE CONCERTS AND KIDS EVENTS

Tunes by the Trail: The city of Buckley comtinuing its summer concert and kids show program, which is hosted at the Buckley Youth Center lawn every Thursday through Aug. 10. Kids shows like the Big Bubble Show, the slapstick Cap’n Arrr comedy, and Reptile Island start at 11 a.m., and free concerts with the Sh80’s, Kupono, and the ABBAgraphs start at 6:30 p.m. For a full list of shows, head to facebook.com/buckleyyac.

Concerts in the Park: The city of Enumclaw has expanded its annual Concerts in the Park events, bringing in live musicians like The Dueling Crooners, the Fabulous Murphtones, and Danny Vernon’s Illusion of Elvis to Rotary Park, Garret Park, and Holdener Park (Sun Top Farms) every Thursday between July 20 and Aug. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. For a full schedule, head to facebook.com/EnumclawParks.

Cinema on Sheets Field: Buckley’s Parks and Rec department is hosting three movies this August at Sheets Field (Glacier Middle School). Aug. 4 features the movie “Cars”; Aug. 11, “Finding Nemo”; and Aug. 18, “How To Train Your Dragon”. Movies begin at dusk.

OTHER SUMMER EVENTS

Maris Farms Sunflower Days: Maris Farms had planted more than 20 different varieties of sunflowers for you to frolic around on weekends from Aug. 12 to 27. Each Festival Admission includes one bloom (you can purchase more), a wagon ride, the mega slide, ziplines, jump pillow, ropes course and more than a dozen other activities for all ages. General admission tickets are $20; kids ages 2 to 10 are $18; and a Sunflower Flex Pass (good for any two visits) is $36. Tickets can be bought at marisfarms.com.

Thomasson Family Farm Sunflower Patch: Thomasson Family Farm is hosting its annual Sunflower Patch on Aug. 11 – 13 and 18 – 20. Admission includes one bloom (more can be purchased), wagon rides, access to the kids korral (play ground, cattle roping, bubble table, chalkboard house, rubber duck races, and slides), and more. Tickets are $15 for general admission online, or $17 at the door; anyone under 2 can come free; and there are military and senior discounts. Tickets can be bought at thomassonfarm.com/sunflowers.

Enumclaw Farmer’s Market: The annual Enumclaw Farmer’s Market returns for its Fifth year on First Avenue every Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. from June 1 through September. For more information, head to enumclawplateaufarmersmarket.org.

Sundays on Cole: Enumclaw’s Cole Street will be shutting down on Sundays as local vendors, artists, musicians, nonprofits, farms, and more will set up shop along the city’s main drag from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from July 9 through Aug. 27.

Cruise Enumclaw: The first Friday of every month through September is reserved for Cruise Enumclaw, which features an informal car parade on Cole Street and through downtown. It’s a free event, but spectators are encouraged to support local businesses and restaurants while enjoying the city’s downtown atmosphere. Cars start rolling around 6 p.m.

Meet up on Main: From June through October, 10 a.m. to noon, the Buckley Downtown Association is hosting Meet Up on Main, which is a time for car enthusiasts who want to participate in the following week’s Cruise can get together and shoot the breeze.

Cruise Buckley: Buckley is getting in on the cruising action by hosting their own downtown cruises every third Saturday from May through October from 6 to 9 p.m.

SINGLE EVENTS

Aug. 4

Ten Trails movie night: Black Diamond’s Ten Trails neighborhood is hosting a free movie night at Civic Park; the event starts at 5 p.m. but the movie — “Jurassic World Dominion” — will begin around dusk.

Aug. 5

Boozy BINGO Brunch: The Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce is hosting a brunch BINGO event on Aug. 5, started at 11:30 a.m. Tickets cost $195 for a table of six people, and comes with 24 BINGO cards, daubers, a bottle of prosecco, orange juice, and a breakfast charcuterie and muffins from The Kettle. This is a 21+ event; buy tickets at enumclawchamber.com/bingo.

Aug. 10

CLASS REUNION: An “Over 50” year class reunion for Enumclaw High graduates is being hosted on Aug. 10 in the school commons, starting at 11:30 a.m. Anyone who has attended or graduated, from 2023 on down, is invited to attend; please bring food for the potluck.

Aug. 25

Enumclaw Pro Rodeo: Enumclaw’s biggest event of August starts on the 25th and goes through the 27th. Gates open at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, with the rodeo beginning at 7 p.m. each night; gates open at 11 a.m. on Sunday and the final rodeo events start at 1 p.m. Live music will be featured on Friday and Saturday, with Hollywood Yates playing on the former and Jared Blake and Bigg Vinny on the latter. Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for kids 6 – 12 (under 5 can come free), and $20 for seniors, military, and veterans. Buy tickets at enumclawprorodeo.com.

RECURRING EVENTS

Coffee with the Mayor: Coffee with the mayor of Enumclaw is held at City Hall on every first Monday of the month (Tuesday if it is on a holiday) from 9 to 10 a.m. This is a casual session for citizens to meet with Mayor Jan Molinaro to discuss issues, concerns, and projects.

Brewskis with a Newsie: Come meet your local journalists on every first Wednesday of each month at Cole Street Brewery (1627 Cole Street, Enumclaw) from 5 to 6 p.m. This is an informal event where residents can pitch stories, fact-check articles, and talk shop. WIBIT Night: The Enumclaw Aquatic Center hosts WIBIT Night every first Saturday of the month, and features large, inflatable pool obstacle courses. Call 360-815-1188 to reserve your spot. Tickets for reservations are $7.75 an hour; drop-ins are $9 an hour.
