Many activities await families on the second Saturdays of each month, September through December, at Pierce County Libraries. Libraries will offer family-friendly films, holiday celebrations, musical and interactive puppet performances, lessons about orchid care, the history of women quilters and buffalo soldiers.

- First Harvest. Ann Gibson, with Foothills Historical Museum, will share with families about Thanksgiving. Nov. 10, 11 a.m.

- A Special Visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Santa and Mrs. Claus have left the North Pole early to visit with you! Dec. 8, 1 p.m.
