Celebrate Black Diamond’s history at its Labor Day festival | Black Diamond

The 77th annual event is Sept. 1 and 2 — with SR 169 closed Monday morning for a parade.

The annual Black Diamond Labor Days Festival, a beloved event steeped in rich tradition, of this historic coal mining town is set to return this year for its 77th celebration.

This long standing community gathering offers a weekend packed with entertainment, shopping, games for all ages, food, and community spirit on Sept. 1 and 2, culminating in the traditional parade

As in the past, there will be an array of activities and attractions for visitors of all ages, and there will be numerous food trucks and local artists vendors.

One of the festival’s special features is “Doggy Day,” an event on Sunday dedicated to our four-legged friends, featuring pet-friendly activities and competitions that are sure to bring smiles to pet owners and animal lovers alike.

Live entertainment is a key component of the festival, with performances by popular local acts including: Raucous on Sunday, and Cody Bartels and Hair Storm on Monday.

Also on Monday is the Black Diamond Masonic Hall Pancake Breakfast at 7 a.m., The Black Diamond Eagles car show, and the annual Labor Day parade, which shuts down state Route 169 for a period of time, starting at 10 a.m.
