The Bonney Lake Senior Center recently received a donation of a new greenhouse but is looking for help preparing the site.
“We’re kind of stalled,” Executive Director Sue Hilberg said. “We just don’t have the time to complete the project.”
Hilberg said a site has been selected in the small courtyard between the senior center and city hall, but the terrain is not level and requires some work.
Hilberg said plans for the greenhouse include growing vegetables for use at the center as well as for seniors to take home. She said it would also be used to grow plants to sell to raise additional money for activities at the center.
“We’re really excited about it,” she said.
Though the hope was to have the greenhouse in place this spring, Hilberg said the delay in finding volunteers willing to help dig a spot has slowed them down.
“We’d love to see it up and see little green things growing in our greenhouse,” she said.
