WHAT: The public and media are invited to a free lunchtime chamber music performance in Benaroya Hall’s Samuel & Althea Stroum Grand Lobby at 12:45 p.m Wednesday, May 15.
Seattle Symphony Musicians Gennady Filimonov, Artur Girsky, Walter Gray and Sayaka Kokubo will perform Franz Joseph Haydn’s popular String Quartet in D major, Op. 64, “The Lark.” Concertgoers are invited to bring their lunch and enjoy the 20-minute performance free of charge.
The performance celebrates The Seattle Foundation’s one-day, online charitable giving event GiveBIG. All day on May 15, donations made to the Seattle Symphony through GiveBIG will be stretched through The Seattle Foundation’s pool of matching funds. These donations help ensure the Seattle Symphony can continue to present extraordinary concerts, and make live symphonic music accessible to everyone through innovative education and community programs. Concertgoers can make donations at the event on online via The Seattle Foundation.
