A high wind warning for Pierce and King Counties has been issued from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. this evening by the National Weather Service in Seattle.
A south wind will increase to 25 to 40 mph by this afternoon, and gusts up to 60 mph are possible.
King County is expected to be hit with the wind around 4 p.m., and then Pierce County around 5 p.m.
The wind is expected to dissipate by 7 p.m.
High winds can cause property damage, topple trees and take down power lines.
