Teacher and some community members were given their first look at the new Lakeridge Middle School this past week, even as workers last week continued to put the finishing touches on the building.
These pictures, from a tour Aug. 27 show a school nearly ready to accept its first batch of students, though much of the detail work was still left to be finished.
In some hallways, like the eighth-grade wing, floors were not yet in place and in other sections of the school, wall panels were still missing, but generally, the building is very near completion.
Work has continued on the building since these photos were taken.
According to the district, the new school will be completed by the scheduled first day of school, Sept. 7, except for landscaping and the school’s gymnasium, the only part of the old Lakeridge to survive.
Officials estimate having the gym open for students by the beginning of October.
