ANIMAL TROUBLE: Police took a report Oct. 10 of an aggressive dog running loose of Pioneer Street. An officer located the dog, which lunged at the officer. Contact was made with the dog’s owner, who was advised to keep the animal locked up. Multiple citations were issued to the dog owner by King County Animal Control.
TOOLS TAKEN: The owner of property on Lafromboise Street reported Oct. 10 that approximately $800 worth of tools had been taken from the vacant house. There were no immediate suspects.
MALICIOUS MISCHIEF: A mirror was broken off a vehicle parked on Semanski Street, causing a reported $500 in damage. The report was issued at 8 p.m. Oct. 10.
CYCLE IMPOUND: A traffic stop at 5:48 a.m. Oct. 10 on Griffin Avenue resulted in a male driver being cited for speeding and failure to obtain a motorcycle endorsement. The motorcycle was impounded.
VEHICLE PROWL: A wallet, GPS device and DVD player were taken during a vehicle prowl on Porter Street. The incident was reported at 11:31 a.m. Oct. 9.
SPEED COMPLAINT: Police were asked Oct. 9 to provide extra patrol in the 2300 block of Kibler Avenue due to vehicles exceeding the speed limit. The reporting party said the violations occur primarily between 2:30 and 6 p.m.
DRIVING COMPLAINT: A citizen arrived at the police station lobby the evening of Oct. 9, reporting a vehicle being driven recklessly. The vehicle was located and police contacted the driver, who admitted to “messing around” while driving, attempting to hit the bumps in the center of the road. A warning was given to the driver; police also spoke with a parent, who advised there would be follow-up discipline.
TWO CHARGED: Police received multiple calls at about 12:30 a.m. Oct. 7 regarding a fight in progress at a Griffin Avenue address. Officers responded and arrested two subjects for fourth-degree assault and disorderly conduct. One was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital by emergency medical personnel. Both subjects posted bail and were released by 3:36 a.m.
PLANE PROBLEM: Police dealt Oct. 7 with a dispute between a subject flying a remote-controlled airplane and a property owner who claimed the airplane was distressing his livestock. The reporting party also reported he was nearly hit when the other party fired a slingshot in his direction. Police were to contact the school district about a possible “no-fly area” on district property. Meanwhile, the neighbor was told to cease the slingshot fire.
OVERTURNED: While on patrol at about 2:40 a.m. Oct 7, an officer spotted an overturned vehicle in the vicinity of 244th Avenue Southeast and state Route 410. No one was located near the vehicle so the officer attempted to contact the registered owner while the vehicle was towed to an impound lot.
THEFT FROM AUTO: Police were told the afternoon of Oct. 6 items had been stolen from a vehicle parked at Enumclaw High School. There was no damage to the vehicle but someone made off with a backpack containing a calculator, a school library book and an iPod cable.
SPARKING: Police took a report the evening of Oct. 5 regarding two broken street lights that were sparking in the 300 block of Cole Street. The city placed cautionary cones in the area and alerted Puget Sound Energy for a priority repair.
GOING TO WORK: A man asked police to be present Oct. 5 when he arrived for his new job, which is in the same parking complex as a business he had been ordered to avoid. He was given permission to go to work, but stay away from the rest of the complex. A permanent solution was in the works.
