The Applebee’s restaurant in Bonney Lake is hosting a pancake breakfast fundraiser Saturday morning with 100 percent of proceeds going to the Lake Tapps Trash Bash.

The inaugural Trash Bash, a volunteer clean-up effort created by Tapp Island resident Jon Bodewell after his daughter cut her foot on a broken bottle that washed up on shore near their home, is scheduled for Jan. 28 and 29.

Participants of the Trash Bash will fan out across the mostly-drained Lake Tapps, scouring the banks and bottom for garbage and debris.
