All suspects in the police blotter are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
LICENSE SUSPENDED: At 6:14 p.m. Jan. 23, officers were dispatched to the Park Avenue intersection of state Route 410 to respond to a two-car collision. After an investigation, it was determined a 51-year-old Orting woman had stopped for traffic when a 23-year-old Enumclaw man rear-ended her vehicle. The man was found to have a suspended driver’s license and was arrested at the scene. The woman was provided with collision information before she left. The man was released on location and advised he would receive a criminal citation and notice of infraction in the mail. A collision report was completed and photos of both vehicles were taken for evidence.
INTOXICATED MINORS: Just after midnight Jan. 24, an officer was dispatched to the intersection of Park Avenue and North A Street in reference to an assault. The officer located three suspect who fit the description, then the assaulted juvenile. The subjects were determined to be minors in possession of alcohol, and placed under arrest. A 15-year-old boy was also arrested for assault.
DUI: At 2:17 a.m. Jan. 26, an officer stopped a vehicle for driving on the wrong side of roadway, on the Main Street intersection of North River Avenue. The driver performed some voluntary field sobriety tests before she was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
RUNAWAY: On Jan. 28, an officer was dispatched to take a runaway report from a Balm Avenue residence. The parents of the missing 15-year-old girl reported she had left home without their permission, and she had last been seen in her room at 1 a.m. She left three notes to her parents and her brother stating that she was running away.
HEADLIGHTS: At 11:56 p.m. Jan. 28, an officer stopped a vehicle on the 28200 block of SR 410 for failing to dim its headlights for passing vehicles. During contact the officer learned the man’s license was suspended in the third degree for failing to appear at a court date. He was issued a citation for the crime, and a notice of infraction for having no insurance.
