BEER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT: On June 30, officers observed a car swerve over the center traffic line several times while going over the speed limit. Officers stopped the car and observed a case of beer in the passenger seat and smelled intoxicants. The male driver could not locate registration or insurance. Field sobriety tests and a voluntary PBT sample showed the man was impaired but not drunk. The car was towed and the man booked at the Puyallup Jail.
DUI, MULTIPLE COLLISIONS: Officers received a call about a possible impaired driver on June 30. After the initial call, dispatch advised officers the driver was involved in two collisions before pulling into a parking lot. Officers contacted the driver, who had slurred speech and seemed to be intoxicated. After field sobriety tests, officers determined she was unable to drive due to her taking multiple medications. The car was towed and the driver booked at the Pierce County Jail.
