All persons in the police blotter are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
FOLLOWING: On July 14, an officer responded to a woman’s report of a person following her down the street. She did not know the gender of the subject, due to their face being covered, but the subject was wearing women’s clothing. After a period of following, she called 911 at which point the subject turned and walked away. Officers conducted a search of the area and the subject was located nearby. Once they located the subject they immediately recognized him from previous police encounters. The male subject was wearing white tights with lace at the bottom, a jacket and a bra stuffed with socks. The male subject advised he likes to wear women’s clothing sometimes and he admitted following somebody on the street. Officers tried to re-contact the caller but she was not available.
DOMESTIC: On July 17, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon officer’s arrival they could hear a male and a female yelling. Officers approached the door, at which point it was opened by the male subject inside. The male went to see an officer standing by while the female stayed with the officer who initially came to the door. The female subject stated they were fighting over the presence of his parents’ trailer in the driveway. Officers tried to determine if any property had been broken but it was not possible due to the disarray of the residence. Officers checked with the male subject and his account of the argument was the same. A report was sent to Child Protective Services due to the living conditions in the home.
EXTREME SPEED: On July 23, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction at more than 90 miles per hour on a street with a posted speed limit of 45. The officer turned around to perform a traffic stop. The suspect’s vehicle emitted a large puff of smoke as he slammed on his brakes and pulled to the side of the road. After verbal contact, the driver was placed into handcuffs and arrested for reckless driving. The passenger told the officer that the driver was mad about a recent case he was involved in and asked if he could go; the passenger was allowed to leave. The driver’s boss approached the scene and told the officer the driver has been through trying personal circumstances. The officer released the driver with a criminal citation.
DISORDERLY: On July 24, officers responded to a local restaurant for a call of a suspicious male who just handed someone his car keys and left. Upon arrival the bartender told officers the male subject was harassing customers. The bartender told the male subject to leave at which time he handed his car keys to a complete stranger and left. The keys had a chain on them which identified the vehicle they belonged to. The officer obtained the keys from the recipient and booked them into the property room at the station. A little while later dispatch notified officers that the subject was back and trying to start fights with customers. Officers contacted the man and asked if he was threatening people inside. He replied he was. The officers asked him where his vehicle was and he gave many possible locations; the vehicle was not located. The subject was later booked into Puyallup jail for disorderly conduct.
