Driving without a license plate, a collision with a fallen tree, and downed power lines.

Jan. 17

– A call about a suicidal individual was originally received by the Kent Police Department, but then transferred to Black Diamond. Officers made contact with the man, who confirmed he was suicidal. He was involuntarily committed to a local hospital for a mental evaluation, transported by TriMed.

– Officers were dispatched at 7:08 p.m. to a hit-and-run incident in the 30600 block of Third Avenue. Through investigation a suspect was identified, contacted by phone and agreed to return to the scene. The suspect was arrested and charged.

– Shortly after 1 a.m. police responded to the 24400 block of Terrace Place to assist emergency medical personnel who had responded after hearing of an unconscious individual. Police secured the scene so medical aid could be provided and determined no crime had occurred.

– It was 14 minutes after midnight when police took a noise complaint stemming from Civic Park in the Ten Trails development. Officers contacted six individuals who advised they lived in Ten Trails and then left the park.

Jan. 16

– After taking an afternoon report of a man yelling at people, police responded to the Lake Sawyer boat launch. They contacted a person who matched the description of the suspect; he denied yelling at anyone but agreed to refrain from speaking to anyone while in the park.

– Officers stopped a vehicle on state Route 169 because it had no license plate. After making the stop, police learned the driver had a suspended license and was using a counterfeit trip permit. The driver was cited and released and the vehicle was impounded.

Jan. 15

– An officer came across a vehicle in the 22500 block of Southeast 296th Street that appeared to have been dumped at the scene and abandoned. It was impounded and investigation was initiated to determine who was responsible.

– Officers were dispatched at 3:38 p.m. to the 22400 block of Southeast 300th Street after being told of suspicious activity in the area. Police contacted an individual and determined no crime had occurred; however, they contacted a mobile crisis team to assist the individual.

– Someone called 911 at 7:23 a.m., reporting that six to eight gunshots had been heard, coming from about a half-mile away from his home on 233rd Avenue Southeast. Officers searched the area and found nothing.

Jan. 14

– At 10:29 p.m., officers observed a vehicle colliding with an elk near the 31600 block of Third Avenue. The driver was not hurt so the officers completed a collision report and left the scene.

– A Diamond Glen resident called police, reporting that numerous construction vehicles were creating parking problems in the neighborhood. They were related to construction going on across the street from the caller. Police spoke with the site foreman who had employees move the vehicles.

– Police took a morning call from someone worried about identity theft. The caller said he had been told by his bank that his address had been changed back to a former residence. Fearing someone had made the change without his permission, the man closed his bank account.

Jan. 13

– At about 8:45 a.m. police learned that someone had called 911, reporting she saw something on Facebook about a suspicious person at a neighbor’s residence. The caller said the same suspicious woman had pulled into her driveway six days earlier, stepped from a newer, red Nissan truck and attempted to open her front door. The homeowner had confronted the woman who said she was looking for a friend’s house and then departed.

– Downed power lines in the 33000 block of Pacific Street were reported at 2:34 a.m. Police placed cones in the area and notified Puget Sound Energy.

– At 1:49 a.m. police found a vehicle on SR 169 that had collided with a fallen tree. The registered owner was located and the vehicle was later towed from the scene. The collision report was handled by the Washington State Patrol.

Jan. 12

– Police stopped a speeding vehicle in the 30400 block of Third Avenue. They found the driver had no license and no identification. The driver was given a criminal citation and released, while the registered owner drove the vehicle from the scene.

Jan. 11

– Officers were dispatched to the 30200 block of 224th Avenue Southeast for a “civil standby” in connection with a court order. They remained on the scene while a vehicle was removed.
